A globally respected centre of research

The International Research Institute Pakistan was established in 2025 as a legally recognised academic entity under the Act, 2017, registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan under Registration No. 0320371.

Our founding premise was uncomfortable but accurate: a great deal of serious research was being produced in Pakistani universities, and very little of it was reaching the international conversations it belonged in. The obstacle was rarely the quality of the thinking. It was the absence of the surrounding apparatus — editorial standards that are actually enforced, methodological training that goes past the textbook, journals that international readers can find and trust, and institutional relationships that open doors.

So we set out to build that apparatus. Six peer-reviewed journals, all double-blind and all free to authors and readers. Six training programmes that treat research method as a craft rather than a compliance exercise. A partnership network now reaching across four continents. And an editorial culture in which a manuscript is judged on its argument and its evidence, and on nothing else.

The institute is deliberately small. We would rather run six programmes well than twenty indifferently, and rather publish twenty careful articles a year than a hundred that no one will cite. That constraint is a choice, and we intend to keep it.
